Air Conditioning
Vehicle Air Conditioning St Albans, Hatfield & Welwyn
The vast majority of vehicles have air-con or a climate control system as standard. Manufacturers recommend that for cars over 2 years old, the system should be serviced every two years, to ensure it continues to work efficiently.
Over 10% of air-con gas permeates from the system every year, requiring it to be recharged. The process involves removing any old refrigerant gas and oil from the air-con system before replacing it with the correct amount of new refrigerant and lubricant as per the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation. A vacuum test is also performed to ensure there are no cracks or damage in the system that could cause the gas to leak out.
Air Conditioning service
Our service at Brian Robson Coachworks in St Albans, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City, also includes the addition of a cleansing agent, which clears bacterial build-up from within the system and removes any unpleasant odours.
Air-conditioning systems that are not recharged regularly will become less effective and have to work harder to produce cool air. This puts more strain on the engine and reduces fuel efficiency. It therefore makes sense to have your vehicle’s system serviced every two years.
